Can I use my NDIS Plan to purchase Sensory Products?

The Sensory Store is a registered provider for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and proudly supports people with disability and sensory requirements.

Our range of sensory tools have been chosen for their soothing and calming outcomes in addition to their various features including textural, aural, visual, feeling and movement.

Depending on your NDIS plan and funding available, you may be eligible to purchase products and sensory tools from the sensory store. This process may seem overwhelming but our helpful information will guide you through.

Your NDIS plan will state which categories that you have available. You may be able to use your funding to purchase your chosen products.

Depending on how your supports are managed will depend on how your order will need to be submitted.


If you are self-managing, just complete your order via credit card and arrange re-imbursement through NDIS via your receipt which you will receive as soon as payment has been made. You may also elect to receive an invoice before completing your purchase.


If you are Plan Managed, this means that your plan manager will pay the supports. We will make contact with your Plan Manager and aim to confirm your NDIS order within 48 hours.

If you are Agency Managed, the NDIS will pay us directly.

The first step is to fill out the NDIS Order Form and type in the Participant name (as it is written on the NDIS Plan) the NDIS number and the Plan Dates.

Then select the products that you would like to purchase and add them to your shopping cart. If you have a promo code you can also use it within this section. Choose from the ‘local pick up’ option (from our Penrith store) or to get the items shipped to your preferred address.

Check all of your items are correct and then click ‘Proceed to Checkout’. This will then take you to a new page to complete the checkout process.

On this page, simply fill out your billing details and choose “NDIS” under payment method and click ‘Place Order’.

We will contact you if we have any issues processing your order. In some instances it can take up to 3+ days to complete NDIS payment orders, but we will keep you updated on all progress and aim to get your goods to you as soon as possible.
